Summary
Dad was admitted to hospital on Saturday following a rapid decline
in his health which culminated in a fall in the road on Saturday
afternoon. He is in the West Herts Hospital which is very close
for Mum and where he is being well looked after. We are thankful
that at the moment this is the best place for him to be. Although
he has a beautiful black eye, it is healing up. His pulse rate
is very high and he has had some fluid drained from his lungs.
He was anaemic and has had a blood transfusion. We are awaiting
a bone scan to find out the cause of the pain in his back and
right hip. He is likely to be in hospital for a little while at
least.
Thursday
Dad was moved to a medical ward on Tuesday evening and is comfortable
at least. They are expecting to perform a bone scan today to find
out the exact situation. Please pray that we would be able to
find things to tempt him to eat as he has very little desire to
eat and his blood sugar was 2.this morning
Thursday evening
We are still waiting for the bone scan - which may not be until
early next week. Dad's appetite is still poor and we are taking
him food as the hospital provisions are not very tempting to saythe
least. He has a walkman and has enjoyed listening to Jeremy's
sermon. He is in quite a lot of pain when he moves. Diary
Thursday 21st August Debs is arriving today, together with Jessica
and Florence who is wery worried about Gandpa
