THE SLIPPERY SLOPE
Professor John Rendle-Short is the author of a fascinating autobiographical study which interacts with a search for the true interpretation of the opening chapters of Genesis. The book is called "Green Eye of the Storm" (Banner of Truth). It looks at the lives of four distinguished men who struggled with the evolutionary theory in very different contexts, Philip Henry Gosse, George John Romanes, Arthur Rendle Short and the writer himself.
Recently John Rendle-Short was on a speaking tour of England where he told a group of pastors that if they rejected a literal Genesis in favour of evolutionary ideas this would put them on a slippery slide of unbelief. The life and departure from the faith of Charles Templeton was cited in a report of this visit in 'Creation' 22(3) June-August 2000.
