DR JOHN RICHARD de WITT

At First Presbyterian Church (ARP) in Columbia, South Carolina, Dr John Richard de Witt, trustee and associate editor of the banner of Truth, is beginning his work as stated supply pastor. The minister who is a member of Catawba Presbytery has served the church as pulpit supply but recently accepted the offer of the Session to take on additional responsibilities.

Dr de Witt will be serving for a term as senior pastor. The length of term agreed upon is one year, and the contract is renewable as mutually agreed. Formerly Dr de Witt served Seventh Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Second Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Memphis, and on the faculty of Reformed Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi

Dr Glen Knecht, former senior pastor at First Columbia Church, was installed July 16 as associate pastor at Fourth Presbyterian Church, an Evangelical Presbyterian congregation in Bethesda, Maryland. For the past three years, Dr Knecht has had the title of assistant pastor there, serving as minister of visitation. He is continuing with the same ministry responsibilities.
