David Wells on the Rejection of Classical Theism

Professor David F. Wells of the Gordon-Conwell Divinity School has demonstrated with devastating detail in such books as "No Place for Truth", "Whatever Happened to Evangelical Theology", "God in the Wasteland", and "Losing our Virtue" that in today's church the unchanging foundation of the Word of God has been replaced by the ever-changing assumptions of modernity. The modern professing Christian values pragmatics over the eternal verities of the Word of God. Pop psychology is peddled rather than the healing truth of Christ's redemption. Sermons are relevant, topical, humorous, poignant, dramatic - anything but biblical. Theology itself has been marginalised as unimportant.

This year Dr. David Wells has written a Guest Editorial for "Modern Reformation" in which he claims that we are coming to the end of Post War evangelicalism in the form we have known it. He predicts that what will follow will be taking on a different shape.
