SERIOUS ILLNESS OF DR JAMES MONTGOMERY BOICE

Dr. James Montgomery Boice is pastor of Philadelphia's historic Tenth Presbyterian Church since 1968. He broadcasts weekly a programme entitled "The Bible Study Hour." He holds degrees from Harvard, Princeton, and the University of Basel. Very recently he has been diagnosed with liver cancer. He is the author of more than thirty books.

Dr. Boice's condition is serious. He has been diagnosed with having cancer in his liver. It is an aggressive type (adeno carcinoma) and had progressed to the start of renal failure. The point of origin has not been determined. He begins chemotherapy treatment today, May 4, for five days on an out-patient basis.

This was a complete surprise to everyone and has been very discouraging to all of us who know and love Jim and his wife Linda. Please pray for his physical strength and the comfort of his family as he takes the treatments.
